GWR Castle steam locomotive to visit Cardiff this Saturday

7029 Clun Castle

GWR ‘Castle’ No. 7029 ‘Clun Castle’ will be on the mainline this Saturday, 2nd October, as it hauls a Vintage Trains railtour.

The Castle will be hauling the railtour from Tyseley to Cardiff.

The train will depart Tyseley Steam Trust at 07:23 and will then pass through Birmingham Moor Street (07:36), Birmingham Snow Hill (07:40), Smethwick Galton Bridge (07:53), Stourbridge Junction (08:09), Kidderminster (08:20), Droitwich Spa (08:36), Worcester Shrub Hill (08:44), Cheltenham Spa (09:31), Gloucester (09:41), Lydney (10:02), Newport (10:43) and Cardiff Central at 11:17.

The return journey will see 7029 Clun Castle depart Cardiff Central at 13:41 and will then pass through Newport (13:58), Bristol Parkway (14:35), Swindon (15:24), Oxford (16:29), Banbury (17:18), Leamington Spa (18:01), Dorridge (18:21), Tyseley (18:29), Birmingham Moor Street (18:41), Birmingham Snow Hill (18:47), Birmingham Moor Street (19:04) and Tyseley Steam Trust (19:17).
