Bletchley railway station has benefited from a tidy up after work from railway workers and volunteers earlier this month.
On Friday 3rd September, a team of 12 carried out work at the station to make it more welcoming for passengers.
The group from Network Rail and the Marston Vale Community Rail Partnership cleared three truckloads of rubbish and also trimmed back vegetation. The planters at the station were restocked with a variety of bulbs.
Marston Vale Community Rail Partnership work with the community to help local communities make the most of the line, you can find out more about Marston Vale Community Rail Partnership here.
Stations at Ridgmont and Lidlington will also benefit from similar work.
Stephen Sleight, Marston Vale Community Rail partnership officer, said: “We really appreciate the help from Network Rail to breathe life into Bletchley station. We’re proud of the stations along the Marston Vale line and days like this help to make sure the communities we serve are proud of their local stations as well.”
James Dean, Network Rail’s West Coast South route director, said: “Network Rail encourages staff to help out in their local communities and we’re committed to making a difference to passengers’ everyday experience of the railway. We want the stations to be a clean, welcoming environment for people who travel through and as passengers return to railway it’s more important than ever to make sure this is case.”

Perhaps Network Rail should demolish and rebuild Bletchley low level station and platforms so that it can be improved when the station high level platforms have been built and the East-West Rail link is completed.
