The North Yorkshire Moors Railway has announced its ‘Light Spectacular’, an event which is set to be a fabulous experience for visitors.
These special trains are set to run throughout the October half term, from Saturday the 23rd to Sunday the 31st of October 2021.
The ‘Light Spectacular’ is set to be a delight for the senses, with the event being designed to be both an auditory and visual feast for passengers travelling on board.
Tickets are available to purchase now and are priced at £25 per person, and will feature an hour-long journey amongst the sparkle of the 17,000 led lights which will embellish the carriages covering them with glittering colour.
The train will be very easy to spot being festooned with light and will be awaiting the passengers at the start of the journey at Pickering, and no doubt will leave a wonderful glow as it travels up to Levisham Station.
The ‘Light Spectacular’ will run at 6 pm and 7.45 pm during the half-term period. Tickets also come with a flashing wristband which is synchronised to match the narration and music which will be played in the carriages.
To get the whole family on board with the party atmosphere, popular hits from the 1960s to the present day will be playing.
Discounts are available via The North Yorkshire Moors Railway Customer Service team from groups of 20 or more people.

Chris Price, NYMR General Manager, said: “This is an experience you’re not going to want to miss out on! The team has been working really hard behind the scenes collaborating with an immersive sensory company to create a unique journey for passengers. We can’t wait to witness the first Light Spectacular express depart from Pickering Station – it will be something very special.”
