Train operator has provided travel information for those planning on travelling to this year’s Boardmasters Festival.

They are providing almost 20 trains for travel to and from the festival, but passengers are being reminded about things they need to be aware of.

Firstly passengers must reserve a seat and are expected to wear a face covering. Great Western Railway are also reminding festival goers that surfboards cannot be carried on long-distance trains.

Direct services towards from on Monday 16 August will start at Plymouth; alternative services will operate between Penzance and Plymouth where passengers can change for services towards London Paddington.

GWR West Cornwall Station Manager Sharon Holloway explains: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming people back to Newquay Station for the Boardmasters Festival. To try to keep everyone as safe as possible, a place must be reserved when you buy your train ticket and face coverings are expected to be worn during the journey. We would also like to remind those travelling by train that we cannot carry surfboards, trolleys, and excessive amounts of luggage; and queuing systems may be in operation at busier stations on route to help you board safely.”
