Steam locomotive 45596 Bahamas will be back in steam on the mainline and visiting Southampton this Thursday, 5th August 2021.

The Jubilee class locomotive is hauling a railtour from London Victoria to Weymouth.

The train will depart London Victoria at 08:45 and will pass through Clapham Junction (09:01), Staines (09:32), Woking (10:03), Farnborough (10:17), Winchfield (10:28), Basingstoke (10:48), Winchester (11:10), Southampton Central (11:27), Redbridge (12:04), Beaulieu Road (12:12), Bournemouth (12:47), Poole (13:00), Wareham (13:09), Moreton (13:20) and Weymouth at 13:38.

For the return journey, SR U Class 31806, based at the Swanage Railway will haul the tour between Weymouth and Southampton (45596 on the rear). Departing Weymouth at 16:35 and then will pass through Wareham (17:13), Poole (17:35), Branksome (17:41), Bournemouth (17:47), Redbridge (18:19) and Southampton at 18:23.

From Southampton, 45596 Bahamas takes over the train back to London. The train will pass through Redbridge (18:38), Andover (19:26), Basingstoke (19:52), Brookwood (20:27), Woking (20:46), Staines (21:18), Clapham Junction (22:03), and London Victoria (22:16).

NOTE: The Railway Touring Company’s website states both diesel haulage AND 31806 on the Weymouth to Southampton section, however, the path for 31806 to join the tour are on Real Time Trains. We are awaiting confirmation on this from RTC.
