ScotRail has released travel advice for passengers between Glasgow and Ayr after a serious fire yesterday at Troon station.
No train services will operate from Glasgow Central to Ayr past Kilwinning until tomorrow, Monday 19th July 2021.
The Fire Brigade was called to the incident around lunchtime yesterday and it took a number of hours to bring the fire in the ticket office under control.
ScotRail says that no one was injured in the blaze, and the line was closed immediately.
Most of the building on platform1 has been destroyed and overhead power lines have been damaged.
Rail replacement buses from Ayr, Largs, Kilmarnock and Troon till transported passengers back to Kilwinning.
From there, a shuttle service to Glasgow Central has been in operation
A contingency timetable will see services terminate and start at Kilwinning, but Glasgow to Largs via Ardrossan services are running.
