Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) has announced the launch of a new tool on their website, enabling passengers to find the quietest trains across their network.
GTR is always looking out for new ways to improve customer’s journey on board their trains, and recently they have developed a tool that utilises seat capacity data to predict which services are likely to carry fewer passengers.
This feature can be found on all three of GTR’s trading name websites, Southern, Thameslink and Great Northern under the ‘Find a quieter train’ webpage.
Passengers will now be able to plan their journeys better and find quieter trains, which is important to many rail users, from commuters to leisure.
When looking at the ‘Live Departure Board’ page on any of the three websites, the quieter trains should be easy to see with colour coded icons to show availability. People planning further ahead can use the feature to see which day of the week is busiest, allowing them to plan which day suits them best.
The feature can be found below:
Chief Operating Officer at Govia Thameslink Railway, Steve White said: “We want our passengers to have information at their fingertips that helps them plan their journey. We know that many customers value quieter services and have some flexibility as to when to travel. Helping customers find quieter trains will be very helpful as more people return to rail and trains become busier. We have fast tracked the development of these new tools to help returning customers feel more confident and comfortable about travelling. We can’t wait to welcome more people back to our railway.”
