Greater Anglia will be going the extra mile this month by having extra staff available to help out at Diss Station to provide support for Latitude festival goers travelling by rail.
The Latitude festival is a fantastic and electric festival at Henham Park in Suffolk and will be taking place from Thursday the 22nd to Sunday the 25th of July 2021.
The colourful festival has been running for 15 years and is a wonderful mix of music, dance, comedy, poetry and theatre with a good mix of family and wellness-based activities.
Shuttle buses will be run by Latitude Buses between Diss Railway station and Henham Park to make the journey as efficient as possible and extra staff will be able to help passengers with travel and ticket information.
Greater Anglia advises passengers to buy tickets online and in advance using their app, which will save on waiting times at the station.
Free plug points will also be available for charging phones in the waiting room at Diss station.
If you are travelling as a group of three or more why not use Groupsave to get a discount of 1/3rd off of ticket prices, groups taking advantage of this saving must travel together for their entire journey.
Festival-goers will also feel the benefit of the new longer trains which are now running on lines to Diss. The Greater Anglia trains also have free wifi, plug sockets along with increased seating.
Rail services are expected to be very busy over the weekend of Saturday the 24th and Sunday the 25th of July 2021 due to the Latitude festival, and also the Dunwich Dynamo cycle event, along with a football match taking place at Ipswich Town.
Greater Anglia is also taking extra measures to keep customers safe on their journeys with enhanced cleaning and sanitisation, good ventilation onboard trains with air conditioning systems regularly refreshing air.
James Steward, Greater Anglia’s Area Customer Service Manager, said: “Travelling by train is one of the most sustainable forms of transport. We’re very pleased to help festival-goers attend Latitude this year. We are always happy to support local events wherever possible and practical.
“We will do as much as we can to help people travel, however we are expecting services to be very busy. Passengers should allow more time for their journeys.”
