British Transport Police are appealing for help in relation to an assault against a member of rail staff which took place at New Street railway station.

On the 26th June, around 2pm, the man in the image tried to get past the ticket barriers at the railway station using an invalid ticket.

A member of staff at the railway station challenged the man who threw water over them and walked away.

When the man was followed, he turned around and hit them in the face and knocked them unconscious.

The victim suffered head injuries and memory loss and was taken to hospital.

Officers believe the man in the image could help them with their investigations.
