The Embsay and Bolton Abbey Railway has announced that they have agreed on a deal with the Bo’ness and Kinneil Railway and the Scottish Railway Preservation Society to bring steam locomotive CR No. 419 to their railway this month.
Caledonian Railway 419 will haul trains for four days on 25th, 26th, 27th and 28th June 2021.
419 was built in 1907 and operated in service for more than 50 years before being saved by the SRPS and has recently undergone work to allow it to haul trains throughout the next few years.
The locomotive will haul trains as part of the Railway Rally alongside Keighley Gasworks No. 2, with tickets able to be booked now (limited availability at the time of writing) via the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Railway website.
A spokesperson for the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Railway said: “12 years ago, we welcomed a locomotive on-loan from our friends in the central belt of Scotland. Its visit has been seen ever since as one of the best events ever held on our picturesque line. We hope that this visit will be met with similar excitement.”
