Princess Elizabeth steam locomotive to pass through Blackburn heading for Carlisle this Saturday

Steam locomotive 6201 Princess Elizabeth will be back in steam on the mainline and will be in Preston Blackburn and Tebay on Saturday 26th June 2021.

The Princess locomotive is on a section of a special railtour, with 6201 Princess Elizabeth hauling The Northern Belle.

The tour starts from Coventry behind diesel locomotives. Departing Coventry at 07:04, the train will pass through Birmingham International (07:23), Wolverhampton (08:26), Stafford (08:48), Crewe (09:22), Warrington Bank Quay (09:49), Wigan North Western (09:58) and Preston at 10:14.

Here, 6201 Princess Elizabeth is added to the train.

Departing Preston at 10:50, the steam train will make its way through Blackburn (11:15), Clitheroe (11:41), Hellifield (12:15), Ribblehead (13:07), Appleby (13:42) and Carlisle at 14:38.

After around 90 minutes in Carlisle, 6201 will depart at 16:13 and will pass through Penrith North Lakes (16:37), Tebay (16:57) and Carnforth South Junction at 17:26.

Here 6201 Princess Elizabeth is taken off the train and is replaced by diesel locomotives. The tour returns to Coventry, calling at Preston (18:26), Crewe (19:17), Stafford (19:51), Wolverhampton (20:15), Birmingham International (20:51) and Coventry at 21:05.
