The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway is continuing to welcome passengers to its line once again after reopening back in April.
The 14-mile line welcomed back passengers on the 13th of April, compromising of a round trip from Toddington.
Fast forward a month, and on the 18th May, the GWSR increased services and offered trips from Cheltenham Racecourse and Broadway allowing passengers to join trains at Cheltenham for a service to Broadway and return on a later train.
Whilst Winchcombe is still closed, the GWSR is continuing to welcome passengers, but social distancing is still required, with most trains compromising of compartment stock.
Train tickets need to be booked in advance, and cafes at Broadway and Winchcombe are welcoming rail passengers and non-rail passengers (Winchcombe open for non-train visitors only).
Richard Johnson, the voluntary Chairman of GWSR Plc commented: “As government guidance changes so we are able to adjust the service we offer.
“We are now running two steam trains on each operating day (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday) and with two additional travel packages, from Broadway and Cheltenham Racecourse.
“It’s another positive and exciting step on the journey to full, unrestricted train services which we expect to happen in July, subject of course to continuing success in vaccinations with the corresponding fall in the number of Covid-19 cases.”
