The Churnet Valley Railway has announced that it has had to delay the reopening of the railway for the 2021 season.
The line has apologised for the delay but says it is now aiming to restart both steam and diesel train trips along the line from July 2021.
The inaugural 2021 service will depart from Froghall Station on Wednesday 7th July.
Following the lifting of lockdown restrictions, the heritage railway was due to welcome people onboard later this month, however, there has been a delay in the delivery of the materials needed to complete the track maintenance programme.
A spokesperson for the railway has apologised for the delay and confirmed “Our customer service team will be in touch with everyone affected to offer alternative dates or refunds where appropriate.”
