Byker station on the Tyne & Wear Metro is currently featuring a montage of work from BALTIC.

On display on the concourse, the work is the latest in range of art exhibitions which began back in 2005.

A call was made last summer by BALTIC for open submissions and 500 entries were received.

Of these, 158 were selected and are on display throughout the area.

On the Tyne & Wear Metro, 13 pieces have been selected and are also on display at , Cullercoats, , , and West Jesmond stations.

All 158 pieces can also be viewed online on the BALTIC website www.baltic.art/openout

Customer Services Director at , Huw Lewis, said: “Byker has become a great location for public art over the years, and I’m delighted that is continuing with the Open Submission works from BALTIC going on display there.

“As more passengers start to return to bus and Metro services so more and more will be able to see these art works every single day.

“We have an extensive art on transport programme, with a wide and varied range of works displayed in permanent and temporary installations.

“I’m really pleased we have been able to carry that on through this project as we start to emerge from lockdown and I hope that people like the displays.”
