A new route has been in development for Train Simulator and is due for release in the near future, thanks to developer Matthew Powell.
Matthew has told RailAdvent that the route, which will see you able to drive along the Cambrian line, has been in development since September 2018 and is expected to be released in Q2 in 2021.
Release will be via the Alan Thomson Sim website, and is expected to be free to download, but there are other routes required. A donation page is being set up if you would like to donate towards the work that has gone into the route.
The route, Matthew says, will feature the entire Cambrian route from Shrewsbury to Aberystwyth and Pwllheli, featuring landmarks such as Barmouth Bridge and Harlech Castle, as well as the Ffestiniog Railway and Talyllyn Railway.
Some ideal scenarios for this could be double 97s on a railtour, or perhaps a run with a Class 158 to a Transport for Wales timetable, the variety is huge, and we can’t wait to see this route released.
A readme has been released ahead of release, which you can download here. (Please Note: RailAdvent is not responsible for anything contained within an external link)

Is there any long stay parking at Shrewsbury. I would like to do a return trip to Phwelli. Also, can one get off the train to explore and get on the next day.
