Architect impressions of the upgrades to the platform ramps at railway station have been revealed by .

An £8m investment has been underway at the station since Christmas 2020, with the work taking place on platforms 8-11.

The project includes removing some of the shops and widening the access ramps to return the passenger flows closer to how they were when the station was redeveloped in the 1960s.

The computer images show a clearer route for passengers, which will help reduce bottlenecks and crowds forming when trains are announced.

Joe Hendry, station manager at London Euston, said: “Though we can’t make the station building bigger, this work will help us get passengers to where they need to be more effectively and efficiently.

“We’ve really missed our passengers during the pandemic, and we’ve done a lot to make the station better for them, including new escalators to the mezzanine and underground station. This is all part of our ongoing vision to improve Euston station for the future.”

Lawrence Bowman, customer experience director for London Northwestern Railway, said: “These welcome improvements will mean a more comfortable journey for our customers travelling to and from London Euston.

“With additional services and longer trains on the way as society unlocks, this scheme forms an important part of the railway’s efforts to help passengers travel with confidence.”

This major upgrade work to platforms 8-11 is due to be finished by Autumn 2021.

  1. Was thinking if Euston station should be demolished an rebuilt and to add more extra platforms for Avanti West Coast, London Overground, London Northwestern Railway, Caledonian Sleeper and HS2. And a new underground pedestrian foot-tunnel linking Euston main line station with Euston Square station on the Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines.
