The Bluebell Railway has announced that their heritage line should hopefully welcome passengers again from Thursday 20th of May 2021.
Currently, these dates are provisional and depend on Government advice and if the proposed roadmap out of full UK lockdown is deemed safe to follow.
At the time of writing this article, the roadmap was still on track. With this being the case, the Bluebell Railway has released tickets for services for sale via their website.
You can only book tickets for the first few weeks after reopening, with more dates to be released if Government advice still allows them to.
There are six services you can choose from Thursday 20th, these are:
- The Pioneer
- Cream Tea Riviera
- The Wealden Rambler Afternoon Tea
- The Blue Belle Dining
- The Rocket
- Fish and Chip Specials
More information and tickets can be found on the Bluebell Railway’s website
Bluebell Railway Interim Chairman Graham Flight said: “We have studied the Government documents and believe we can open safely towards the end of May. We look forward to seeing families, train enthusiasts and groups of visitors back at the Bluebell.”

Wow, now even the Beautifully Historic Bluebell Railway (the Really Truly Scenic British Country Heritage Railway)… are so indeed going to get back on track.
I always knew this ‘eagerly-must-visit’ 60 year old British Heritage Railway would once again succeed in getting back on track, especially on it’s continuing role in combating the pandemic through & through,
I Wish the Bluebell Railway & it’s Fascinating Fleet of Locos, & Volunteers Galore, Good Luck during the rest of 2021.
