The 82045 Steam Locomotive Trust have released their March 2021 update on the construction of new build British Railways Standard Class 3 Tank No. 82045.
‘Bottom-End’
Thanks to everyone making donations, with March seeing £1,300 donated, work can continue off-site while the full team of volunteers were unable to work at Bridgnorth.
At Arthur Stephenson Engineering, the brand new valve spindles have been finished, with the coupling rods in the process of being forged.
The next stage of the rods’ manufacture will see them machined. The coupling rods are the largest single item that is yet to be fully funded.
The below photo is the Trust’s monthly shot sent into them by Ivan Whitehouse of 82044.
There is one feature that sets 82044 out from the rest of the Standard 3 Tank class if you think you know it, send your answer to Chris, his contact details can be found here.
