In celebration of introducing the Class 800 ‘Azumas’, London North Eastern Railway (LNER) has created a range of seven posters now available for purchase to remember key events.
Back in 2019, LNER saw many brand new sets of Azuma enter their fleet across their network, via the East Coast Mainline.
2021 will mark two years of operation on these routes. Each of the seven posters depicts a different location which now sees Azumas on a regular basis.
The posters are of:
- 15th of May 2019 – London King’s Cross to Leeds first Azuma passenger service
- 30th of July 2019 – York launch held at York Station, Azuma and Mallard displayed together
- 1st of August 2019 – Edinburgh Waverley launch
- 21st of October 2019 – Lincoln launch
- 26th of November 2019 – Aberdeen launch
- 10th of December 2019 – Inverness launch
- 15th of December 2019 – Harrogate launch
Anyone interested in purchasing any of the posters can head on over to LNER’s online shop where you can order your poster(s) now.
Prices are £9.99 for an individual A3-sized print or £49.99 for the full set of seven.
LNER Director of Communications Kate McFerran said: “The LNER Azuma poster collection gives those in our communities and who are enthusiastic about the iconic LNER fleet a chance to own a piece of railway history. “These commemorative posters were hugely popular and much requested when we launched our Azuma services and we’re excited to give enthusiasts the chance to add them to their collection “The original LNER was well known for its evocative posters and great publicity, so it is wonderful that we can continue this tradition with the release of the Azuma launch collection of posters.”

Will the proceeds of these sales go towards fitting decent seating iin those wretched Azumas? Travelled from Kings Cross to Leeds and back in a day. A miserable uncomfortable experience. Never again. The GWR units are just as bad
I’m so impressed with how well Advertized, LNER… Really Truly Are,
I think it’s Great LNER are even launchign these new and so intriguing posters, to advertize and show the exact locations, of which the East Coast Main Line proudly passes & serves en-route, to both London & Edinburgh, respectively.
I also like the one featuring both the Modern LNER Azuma, & Past LNER A4 Pacific Mallard, along with York within the Foreground… Posing within the Spotlight of said Poster… Well Advertizing LNER.
I’m glad to see it’s your title that’s wrong and not the poster.

Hi Tim,
You are correct, there was a typo in the first share of the article, which was corrected for the later shares.
