Greater Manchester railway station carpark gets resurfacing revamp

Network Rail and train operator have completed resurfacing work at one of their stations in Greater Manchester.

The upgrade work at station is part of Northern’s “A Better Way To Go” programme which is seeing improvements across the network.

The layout of the car park has also been improved to clearly mark the bays and pedestrian walkways.

funded the £35,000 project which took five weeks to complete.

The station has seen other improvements, including LED lighting and new ticket machines .

Chris Jackson, Regional Director at Northern, said: “This investment is another example of the work being done by Northern to improve the journey experience of passengers and will make a significant difference to our customers.”

“Our A Better Way to Go campaign demonstrates the hard work that has taken place as we continue to transform rail travel in the north and I’d like to thank everyone who has been involved.”
