The Clan Project, constructing steam locomotive 72010 Hengist, has released an update on their appeals, orders made, and new additions to the management team.
The appeal for the front bogie components has now been completed, with the group thanking those that have made contributions.
An order has been placed by the group for the bogie tyres and axles with Naledi Ringrollers in South Africa via South Devon Railway Engineering.
A lead time of 6 to 12 months has been placed on these items, so the project is unsure when they will arrive in the UK.
John Hind BSc CEng MIMEchE has been appointed as Director of Quality and Mainline Certification and is now part of the management team. John has worked in manufacturing, quality and project management roles in the past and has lots of experience in quality management.
Allan Jones, Chairman, said, “We are extremely pleased to welcome John on to the team, and look forward to working with him to ensure that Hengist is built to the highest possible standard.”
The Clan Project is currently looking to recruit a Company Secretary, if you are interested in this, please email [email protected] for more details.
