Nathan Fletcher, Lee Webber, Nathan Boswell, Ruby Grant and Charles Taylor have been working hard to keep passengers safe as Sanitation Busters.

The workers have been part of the cleaning team for more than 11 years collectively and have worked during lockdown to make sure touchpoints on trains and at Liverpool Lime Street, Huddersfield and Manchester Airport and Manchester Piccadilly stations are kept clean.

TransPennine Express have 20 teams across the North to make sure everyone is kept safe.

With passenger numbers expected to rise when the lockdown is slowly lifted, the teams will be ready to keep carriages clean and protect TPE staff.

Nathan Fletcher, said: “Keeping our key workers and essential travellers safe is our number one priority and it’s been rewarding to know that we’re helping to achieve that. It’s a challenge ensuring that each and every touchpoint is clean but one that I relish, it’s vital that high standards are kept during the process.”

Lee Webber, added: “It’s an honour and a privilege to be a part of this team and I’m proud to be doing my bit to help get us out of this pandemic.”

Ruby Grant, said: “I feel proud of myself, especially when passengers comment on my work, it opens up my eyes a little more and I realise how vital the job is that we are doing to protect people.”

Nathan Boswell, said: “I’ve had to adapt in my role as a sanitation buster and now I’m a lot more hands on but I’m proud to be able to contribute in some way in what are hard times for the country.”
