Well, another year has passed, and what a different year it has been for everyone. Here at RailAdvent, we had plans to visit multiple railways as well as working alongside a number of groups.

However, things didn’t go as planned, and unfortunately, the Coronavirus pandemic has rocked so many families and will do for some time yet.

Despite the pandemic, RailAdvent has continued to grow, we have had over 8 million page views this year.

We kick-started our season with the 3-day visit to the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway for their Spring Steam Gala.

The pandemic soon changed plans after that and during the lockdown, we produced a number of DVDs for which we gave a donation to the railway, so for those of you that supported with a purchase, thank you from us and also from the railways.

On this special day, RailAdvent would like to wish every single one of our readers a very Merry Christmas.

We have some news to publish throughout the next few days, as well as competitions and video clips, so do look out for them.

New features for the website will continue to arrive in 2021 and we have just launched streaming options for our DVDs.

Many of our readers no longer have a DVD player and/or do not wish to have a DVD to keep, so we are slowly introducing the option to view them online. The first one in the collection is ‘A day with Oliver Cromwell’.
