The work will be completed at Polmadie Depot in Glasgow as well as Longsight Depot near Manchester.
Comprehensive work will be completed on the trains and includes the bogies and other mechanical underframe components, as well as work on the electrical equipment such as the pantograph.
Steve Timothy, Stakeholder Director of Eversholt Rail, said: “This contract continues to build on our strong relationship with Alstom and ScotRail. We have invested significantly in enhancing our Class 334 fleet and this heavy maintenance programme will ensure that the units continue to provide reliable and cost-effective services for Scotland.”

Our teams in Glasgow and Manchester are some of the most experienced train maintenance experts in the country, and we’re excited to be entrusted with improving the ‘Juniper’ trains for all the passengers that use them.”
Syeda Ghufran, ScotRail’s Engineering Director, said “This comprehensive refurbishment of our fleet of Class 334 trains will greatly enhance the service we provide customers travelling across Scotland’s central belt. Eversholt Rail and Alstom’s expertise in carrying out this work will allow us to improve comfort and reliability for passengers as we continue to provide them with a cost-effective service for years to come.”

Good on Alstom and Eversholt Rail to overhaul the Class 334 Juniper EMUs.
The Class 334 are amazing trains built by Alstom. And they do need a overhaul which is good.
But what about the Class 458 that South Western Railway are replacing them with the Class 701 Arterio Aventra units from next year. Would the Class 458 could be cascaded to Southern to replace the Class 455 and Class 313. Or is it likely that the Class 458 are to be scrapped.
