West Yorkshire train travel disrupted after huge fire near Bradford Interchange

Huge fire near Bradford Interchange

A large fire near Interchange means that all lines are currently blocked, causing disruption to train travel.

Trains are expected to be disrupted throughout Monday 16th and Tuesday 17th November.

trains are currently unable to run through , meaning trains will either be cancelled in full or diverted. Alternatively, trains will terminate and start at different stations.

Please check with your rail operator for the latest travel advice regarding this disruption

Here is what we know so far:


16th November 2020 at 09:17

Rail replacement bus services are in operation as follows:

  • XX:00 Leeds – Bramley – New Pudsey – Bradford Forster Square – Halifax.
  • XX:30 Leeds – Bramley – New Pudsey – Bradford Forster Square – Low Moor – Halifax.
  • XX:00 Halifax – Bradford Forster Square – New Pudsey – Bramley – Leeds
  • XX:30 Halifax – Low Moor – Bradford Forster Square – New Pudsey – Bramley – Leeds

16th November 2020 at 08:40

Here is the latest changes to travel:

  • Leeds to Manchester Victoria
    • XX:12 services from Leeds will be cancelled throughout
    • XX:42 services from Leeds will be diverted and will not call at Bramley, New Pudsey, Bradford Interchange or Low Moor.
  • Manchester Victoria to Leeds
    • XX:54 and XX:58 services from Manchester Victoria will be cancelled throughout
    • XX:17 and XX:19 will be diverted and will not call at Low Moor, Bradford Interchange, New Pudsey or Bramley
  • York to Blackpool North and Blackpool North to York
    • Trains will be diverted if possible, and will not call at New Pudsey, Bradford Interchange of Halifax
    • If they cant be diverted, trains will be cancelled.
    • Passengers can travel on Blackburn to Manchester Victoria services and change at Todmorden
    • Alternatively, passengers can travel to Preston and onto Manchester to change to a TransPennine Express service to Leeds.
  • Halifax to Hull
    • Trains will operate between Leeds and Hull and will not call at Halifax, Bradford Interchange, New Pudsey or Bramley.
  • Bradford Interchange to Huddersfield
    • Services will only operate between Huddersfield and Halifax.

Ticket acceptance is in place between Manchester and Leeds with TransPennine Express

Passengers travelling from Bradford to Leeds are advised to use Bradford Forster Square as this line is not effected. Rail replacement bus services will call at Bradford Forster Square NOT Bradford Interchange.

Northern has said that due to the size of the fire and materials involved, the fire brigade cannot extinguish the fire and are focussing on containment.
