DO NOT TRAVEL: Flooding cancels trains between Skipton and Lancaster / Carlisle

Northern are warning passengers not to travel as flooding has cancelled trains running between and / .

Heavy rain overnight has caused flooding to Melling Tunnel, between and Blea Moor, and between and Carnforth.

As a result, trains between Skipton and Lancaster / Carlisle are cancelled as the lines are closed in both directions.

Additionally, due to road conditions, no rail replacement buses will be operating, and Northern are warning passengers not to travel.

Passengers are being advised to check with Northern before travelling today as flooding affects other lines in Northern England
