The Derwent Valley Light Railway has announced that a new Class 08 locomotive has arrived and has become part of their home fleet.
Last month, Class 08 No. 08528 arrived at the DVLR.
The Class 08 will have a Fitness to Run Exam and driver training, before the locomotive can begin running on the line.
No confirmation on when the Class 08 will enter service has been announced yet, but with England now in lockdown, that will be delayed.
Whilst the Class 08 arrived at the Derwent Valley Light Railway; Fowler 4200022 departed the railway for restoration, which will be completed away from the railway.

Well I Never… It’s been ages (let alone quite a long while) since the Distinctively Well-Preserved, Derwent Valley (Light) Rly – near York last appeared in the Spotlight.
Also, Quite A Preservation Highlight for them, As they’ve taken on An ex-BR Class 08 Diesel-Shunter, especially for a run up the Surprisingly Short thus Well-Restored Stretch of what’s left of this Historic Yorkshire Country Railway.
