Solihull Council has released an update on the proposals for a new railway station and interchange.
The current station was built in 1938 and is approaching its capacity limits.
With passenger numbers predicted to grow in the future, new plans are needed for the station which links with destinations such as Birmingham and London.
Last summer, users of Solihull Railway Station completed a questionnaire about the current station and following that feedback a number of sessions were planned.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this has not been possible. The project team have however produced a video update.
The survey identified the need for better facilities at the railway station, and better road layouts around the station

I seem to remember the existing station is step free accessible. Its level entry to the station building at ground level from the bus station side, similarly from the other end of the subway, and a passenger lift was re-insted to the single in use island platform some years ago in the final yearss of BR
I agree. Demolish and rebuild the station so it can be step-free accessible.
Maybe demolish the old station building and build a new station building with step-free access, park & ride facility, taxi ranks and bus stops.
