Sheringham’s station adopter in Norfolk has big plans to brighten up the new station platform with flowers.
Sheila McGinley has worked with Greater Anglia, Sheringham‘s local rail operator, to install three wooden planters, which she will fill with plants.
The planters also replace the old station garden, which was lost when the platform had to be extended to allow the new fleet of trains to stop at the station.
More than £1m was invested by Greater Anglia in the project, which saw improved LED lighting and a new passenger shelter installed at the station.
Greater Anglia’s Customer and Community Engagement Manager, Alan Neville, said, “I’m pleased that we have been able to work with Sheila to bring some attractive floral displays back to Sheringham station, to help provide a more welcoming environment to everyone who uses the station.”

Flowers have always been A Colourful Fascination (to Me, I Myself)… I Really Truly Believe it’ll Brighten up this Stunningly Well Restored Sheringham Train Station & Attract even more Enthusiasts & Visiting Folks to the ”Eagerly-Must-Visit” North Norfolk Railway… Whom of Which is also known… As The Poppy Line.
A Railway Station & Adjacent Garden of Flowers, Make A Clever Combination (in my book)… Good Luck to the NNR on this latest Idea.

Norfolk, is indeed located within East Anglia.
Hopefully the plants would brighten up the station. Very nice Greater Anglia.
New plant beds for new plants at Sheringham as the platform has been extended to accommodate the Class 755 Bi-Mode Flirt trains. Wonderful.
