The Leighton Buzzard Railway has announced that it is reopening after a closure of six months.
Trains will resume at the narrow gauge railway on Saturday 19th September 2020, with an enhanced service in operation on both the 19th and 20th September 2020. Trains will run every Sunday until the 1st November, with trains in operation on the 10th, 27th, 28th and 31st October.
Passengers are advised to pre-book tickets online, on the day tickets will be limited due to the reduced capacity in operation. Partitions have been added to carriages to create compartments, with one family per compartment.
The Railway’s Chairman, Terry Bendall said: ‘I would like to thank all our customers and supporters for their patience, as well as our volunteers who have worked hard to get us to the point where we are able to safely reopen. We look forward to once again welcoming passengers to the railway and look forward to another enjoyable if shortened, running season.’
Unfortunately, all special events in September, October and November have been cancelled, but Santa will visit in December.
