Steam trains are returning to the Epping Ongar Railway on the Sunday and Monday of the upcoming August Bank Holiday Weekend.
On Sunday and Monday 30 and 31 August, the Epping Ongar Railway will be running short steam-hauled shuttle trips from North Weald. These trains are available at no additional charge for diesel ticket holders on the day.
Steam will depart North Weald at 1115, 1200, 1230, 1315, 1345, 1430, 1500, 1545 and 1615.
Each trip will last around 20 minutes, so passengers will need to allow extra time at North Weald if they are planning to ride on this train.
The train will use one compartment coach which has 7 compartments on board and will be limited to one household group per compartment.

Wow, At last, the Excellently Well-Preserved Epping & Ongar Railway are one of the latest Heritage Railways to Reopen Back Up & Running.
I still hope to travel down to & visit the EOR ‘in-person’ someday… To check out the EOR itself, Even for A Train Ride up & down it’s own Well Painstakingly-Restored Railway line through the Evocative Essex Countryside.
What I like about, let alone find so Historically Interesting about the Epping & Ongar Railway (EOR)… is that it’s also A former London Underground Tube line-now turned Country Heritage Railway… Giving this part of Essex it’s own Railway Heritage within-between.
I do believe the EOR are Aiming to extend closer to Epping Tube Station one day eventually, let alone consider A Coopersale Halt within Epping Forest in-between.
Well Done & Good Luck to the EOR on it’s Upcoming Reopening by the way.
