Work to resume on Bridge 11 replacement at the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway

Following a halt due to the COVID-19 lockdown, work will resume shortly to complete the new Bridge 11 on the and Worth Valley Railway.

With lockdown restrictions being eased, the decision has been taken to proceed with construction work, with the planned schedule listed below:

  1. Now to Friday the 17th of July 2020 – Preparation work
  2. Saturday the 18th of July 2020 – Lifting beams into position
  3. Monday the 20th of July to Monday the 3rd of August 2020 – Two weeks to finish all outstanding work

With the completion of the new Bridge 11 preferred before running passenger trains again, the line is unlikely to see visitors again until early August at the earliest, with no confirmed reopening date currently, donations to the railway, of any amount, is much appreciated by the railway, it’s staff and volunteers and helps the KWVR to survive the impact of COVID-19.
