The recently created Facebook page for the 35006 Locomotive Company Ltd has published an update on their Southern Railway Rebuilt Merchant Navy Class No.35006 “Peninsular & Oriental S. N. Co.”
During March 2020 when last 35006 ran, it was found that the ashpan had suffered major damage, with repairs required before “Peninsular & Oriental S. N. Co.” can return to passenger train duties at the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Steam Railway (GWSR), which are planned to resume from Saturday 15th of August 2020.
Closure of the GWSR, including access to Toddington Locomotive Shed where 35006 is based, meant work to repair the ashpan was put on hold. With the railway soon allowing staff and volunteers to return to Toddington, work can commence on 35006 to prepare the engine for service.

Not a simple repair should find what cause the damage and not to repete this again
