With plans on reopening the Swanage Railway in progress, can you help the line by answering their survey on what measures you would like to see in place?
With lockdown restriction slowly being eased as COVID 19 becomes less of a threat, many heritage railways are now planning how they can operate trains with social distancing and other safety measures integrated into running a preserved line.
To help them decide which measures to use, the Swanage Railway has created a survey for potential visitors and the public to fill out, allowing you to state your preferences and options.
The more people who fill out the survey, the more information the railway can obtain, the better-suited measures will be for all visitors.
For more information or to fill out the survey, please click here to visit their website.
Supporting the Swanage Railway
As of the Wednesday 10th of June, their Save Our Service (SOS) Appeal has raised over £188,000 to support the line, which the railway’s staff and volunteers are very grateful for. For more information or to support the Swanage Railway, please visit their website here

Maybe South Western Railway could operate a permanent service to Corfe Castle and Swanage from London Waterloo with their Class 158 DMU stocks.
Which would only have minimal or lesser stops such as Clapham Junction, Basingstoke, Micheldever, Winchester, Eastleigh, Southampton Central, Ashurst New Forest, Brokenhurst, Bournemouth, Poole, Wareham and stations on the Swanage Railway including Corfe Castle. Even though it’s still a heritage railway.
I have taken a go at the Survey centering round the possible reopening of the
Swanage Railway… And I’m glad to have done so.
I’d still look forward to visiting and ride the route of the Swanage Railway ‘in-person’ for the first time someday.
Wouldn’t mind riding either Steam, Heritage Diesel or perhaps the Classic Diesel-Multiple-Unit perhaps.
