The Swanage Railway has confirmed that their SOS Appeal has now raised more than £150,000 towards supporting the line.
With the UK lockdown put in place on Monday the 23th of March 2020, the Swanage Railway had to close it’s doors to the public.
This has meant no income could be earned from running passenger trains, the primary source of revenue on the railway. Therefore the SOS (Save Our Service) Appeal was launched to raise vital funds needed to support the railway while closed.
Since started, the Appeal has now topped £150,000, a major milestone. This sum will go along way to helping the line recover from their financial losses.
The railway has also published their latest video from one of their volunteer firemen, talking about the line’s importance to him, which can be watched below:

Wow, Well Done to the Swanage Railway so far on it’s already proving so far successful appeal.
I always knew the ”Eagerly-Must-Visit” Swanage Railway would prove successful on this appeal of theirs, especially on the amount it’s fundraised in supporting that wonderful heritage line of theirs.
Good Luck to the SR on however they do on this one, I sure hope they reopen up and running within the foreseeable future.
