Michael Gough, Great Central Railway boss, has confirmed that further test trains will be running this Sunday, 31st May 2020.
The railway will be opening the car park adjacent to Quorn & Woodhouse station for those who are missing steam and want their “fix”.
This also opens up the opportunity to take photos of one of the first heritage railways to run trains since lockdown began in March.
At the time of writing, Standard Class 2 locomotive 78018 will be in service on Sunday, but this is subject to change.
Additionally, there is a strong chance that resident Class 37, 37714, will also be in action running tests and equipment movements – again, subject to change.
NO access will be granted to the platforms, and cafes will not be open.
Approximate departure times for the day will be 13:00, 14:30 and 16:00.
The GCR suggests that people remain in cars to watch the trains go by. However, if you do decide to step outside, then you need to ensure you are 2 metres away from anyone who is not part of your household.
