The Nene Valley Railway (NVR) has announced that Overton Station’s Refreshment Kiosk will be open this weekend serving food and drinks.
Opening for the first time in a while on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th of May 2020, you will be able to purchase hot and cold drinks, ice creams and light refreshments with contactless payments being taken as the preferred method of payment.
The Nene Valley Railway is following government guidelines and asks anyone who visits to also stick to the advice from the government too, like maintaining two-metre distances between other members of the public.
Members of the public are also reminded to keep to footpaths and bridleways and not trespass or damage railway property. Trespassing can cause injury or death, along with more issues and funds to raise for the line if items become damaged.
Although this is good news that some services can begin to return to normal and earn some much-needed income, the rest of the railway is still closed until further notice. The line and its volunteers greatly appreciate donations of any amount.
