The Epping Ongar Railway has confirmed that over £14,000 has been donated towards their £200k Appeal.
The Appeal has been set up to raise £200,000 to support the railway during and after the COVID-19 outbreak in the UK.
With £14,000 raised after only one week, the Appeal has got off to a brilliant start which the railway and it’s volunteers are very grateful.
Friday 20th March was the last time revenue earning passenger train which ran between Epping and Ongar, with the line earning only a small amount of income since then.
Money raised will help the railway survive the impact of COVID-19 by paying for fixed costs such as rents and vital maintenance on track etc., along with other tasks to prepare the line for running passenger trains when safe to do so.b

Wow, The Epping-Ongar Railway have also (as with other fellow Heritage Railways across the UK) done well so far in it’s Fundraising Appeal.
I always knew the EOR (which I myself, hope on travelling down to and pay a visit for a train Ride up and down this Well-Restored/Painstakingly Preserved Branch Line Heritage Railway ‘in-person’ someday) would successfully do well so far on fundraising to help combat/fight back the dastardly dreary Covid-19.
Well Done so far and Good Luck to the Epping-Ongar Railway on it’s own fundraising appeal and thankful/heroic part in helping to fight back the dreary Covid-19 in anyways possible.
