Steam Dreams has released an update regarding their steam locomotive tour programme for 2020.

Following the guidelines on Tuesday 24th March 2020, has chosen to postpone their trip on Sunday 3rd May 2020 to Highclere Castle and Bath – a revised date is being worked on and will be announced in the coming weeks.

Additionally, Steam Dreams have cancelled their Moors and Mountains Explorer Holiday, which was due to run from 7th to the 15th May 2020.

Steam Dreams has, however, announced that they have been able to reschedule the trips that were due to run in March and April. The ‘Mother’s Day Special’ to Winchester, with an afternoon tea trip from Winchester, will run on Sunday 23rd August.

The sold-out trip from Stratford to Lincoln via the Great Eastern Main Line has been rescheduled to Saturday 29th August.

The London Euston to Carlisle day trip, originally scheduled for Saturday 18th April, will now run on Saturday 5th September. Finally, the ‘St George’s Day special’ to Stratford-upon-Avon has been rescheduled to Thursday 27th August.

What did the officials say?

Della Cogan, Head of Holidays by Steam at the Steam Dreams Rail Co commented:

‘The cancellation of our Moors & Mountains Explorer tour comes as a huge disappointment to us all; however, the health and safety of our passengers, staff and volunteers is of paramount importance to us and must take priority. While sadly it has not been possible to reschedule this holiday to a suitable time later in the year, we are building some of the key elements of the original tour into our other holidays which are in planning for later in 2020 and 2021.’

David Buck, Owner of Steam Dreams, said:

‘We are pleased to have been able to reschedule our popular spring programme to later in the summer, when we hope everyone will be able to travel safely.’

“We are grateful to our Train Operating Company for responding so quickly and to our passengers for their patience and understanding.”
