The Nene Valley Railway has published a short film in an appeal for donations to help support their heritage line during the COVID-19 outbreak.
Following the decision to close the railway, including Wansford Station cafe, on Friday 20th of March 2020 to protect the public and staff from COVID-19, the railway has lost out on vital income.
Most of the income raised from Santa Specials and other events and train services towards the end of 2019 has been spent of maintaining the railway’s infrastructure and engines, along with preparing for the 2020 seasons, before COVID-19 became a major threat to the UK.
Any support, whether donations or gift vouchers to spend when the line is back up and running, is greatly appreciated by Nene Valley Railway. For more information or to donate now, please visit their website by clicking here.
This fantastic video linked above has been kindly filmed and produced by Camera Drone UK to help support the Nene Valley Railway. Camera Drone UK specialises in drone filming for both TV and promotional media, with their brilliant footage being used on popular programmes such as:
- BBC’s “Countryfile”, “Springwatch” and “Winterwatch”

- Channel 5’s “The Unstoppable Flying Scotsman”, “World’s most scenic railways” and “How the Victorians built Britain.”
- Channel 4’s “Restoring Britain’s Landmarks” and”Grand Designs ‘House of the year'”
Through experience and expertise, Camera Drone UK has been granted special permissions from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), allowing them to fly closer to objects and securing footage not many other drone operators can obtain.

Well I Must Say, This is one of the most terrific online videos that I have ever seen,
I do like how the instrumental theme music supportively blends in, Especially the well filmed birds eye view footage of the NVR, The Restored Line, Wansford Station/Adjacent Depot and Surrounding Cambridgeshire/Nene Valley Countryside in-between.
I already support this ”Eagerly-Must-Visit” ex-Cross Country Heritage Railway (as well as other fellow Heritage Railways & Transport Museums in-between), With my full support and from the heart.
Mi Heart even goes out to this Notoriously Well-Preserved Railway and it’s crews, volunteers and folks out there.
I do hope the NVR (Along with all other preserved railways across the UK) successfully secure it’s future and be kept forever preserved in anyways possible.
