Vintage Trains has announced that they have postponed the railtour scheduled to run in April 2020 due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

The tour operator has made this decision following the announcement that the UK is moving to the Delay Phase of the Coronavirus outbreak.

This phase recommends social distancing.

There is no currently decision on when the tour, due to run on the 18th April to Carlisle, will be re-run.

There is also no currently no confirmation of if this will affect May tours as well.

What did they say?

Vintage Trains said:

The well-being of our passengers and staff is our absolute priority and clearly our trains accommodate passengers for lengthy periods of time in close proximity; less than the recommended 1 to 2 metres apart. We have also reviewed the demographics of both the passengers and staff, many of which could be considered at a higher risk than the average.
