First Group has announced that TransPennine Express Managing Director, Leo Goodwin, will be leaving tomorrow, 5th March 2020, to pursue a job outside of First Group.
Leo has held several positions in First Rail since joining in 1999, including key roles in the Train Operating Companies and in developing the East Coast open access proposition.
Most recently, Leo led from the front at TransPennine Express since FirstGroup won the franchise in 2015.
Liz Collins, Finance Director at TPE, will be Interim Managing Director while FirstGroup looks for a successor.

Commenting, First Rail Managing Director Steve Montgomery said:
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Leo for his contribution to First Rail. We wish him every success in his future career.”

Perhaps Transpennine Express should also be taken over by the DfT.
God riddance. Ignorant man. Made basic mistakes. Glad he as gone.
Maybe he could see the red light coming in franchise termination and so has jumped before he is pushed.
