West Midlands Railway has confirmed that, due to a fallen tree damaging overhead power cables, there is no train service between Lichfield Trent Valley and Birmingham New Street this morning.
Engineers are on site. They will need to remove the tree before assessing the damage to the overhead power cables and begin repairs.
Disruption to train services is expected to last all day.
Local buses are accepting train tickets between Birmingham New Street and Sutton Coldfield, and there are bus replacement services from Sutton Coldfield to Lichfield Trent Valley.

A spokesman for West Midlands Railway said
“We are sorry we are unable to provide a service on the Cross City North line today. Passengers are advised to allow more time for their journeys today. Anyone delayed 15 minutes or more is encouraged to claim compensation. details can be found on the West Midlands Railway website at www.wmr.uk/delayrepay.”
