The last steam train has passed over a historic bridge on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway which is due to be replaced.

Bridge 11, found between Ingrow West and Damems on the 5-mile long heritage railway, was built when the line to Oxenhope was created, all the years ago.

A number of famous locomotives have passed over the bridge in its time, including Flying Scotsman and Royal Scot and the prototype HST at the Mixed Traffic Gala.

BR Standard 2 78022 was the locomotive in operation which hauled the final steam passenger service over the bridge.

The railway has set up The Bridge 11 Appeal, aimed at raising the £150,000 needed to replace the bridge.

Some parts of the bridge have already been delivered to the site, with the steam crane also heading to the bridge to help with the installation of the new bridge.

The replacement of the bridge means that the line will be closed between Damems Junction and Keighley.

Trains will run between Damems Junction and Oxenhope only (calling at Oakworth, Haworth and Oxenhope).

A rail replacement bus services will operate between Keighley and Haworth via Ingrow West.
