The Department for Transport has announced that it has launched a new campaign aimed at making travel better for people with different kinds of disability.

Transport providers in the UK play a significant role in modern life. At present, too many passengers say they don’t feel confident in using public transport, and 1 in 4 say that negative attitudes from other passengers prevent them from travelling.

Train operator, Heathrow Express, are supporting the new campaign. To make sure everyone enjoys their journey, is encouraging passengers to make sure they make these small changes when travelling, such as:

  • Be prepared to give up a priority seat
  • Be prepared to help each other
  • Be patient with each other
  • Don’t charge through busy platforms
  • Respect all accessible toilet users
