Nexus has been taking advice from Public Health England.
At the moment, there are no changes to Metro operations or in the way that the public should travel on the system.
Let us know in the comments below if you use the Tyne and Wear Metro!
What did the officials say?
Customer Services Director at Nexus, Huw Lewis, said:
“Passengers should continue to use the Tyne and Wear Metro system as usual.
“We are following the advice issued by Public Health England and at the moment they have not made any changes to the way that people use public transport services.
“If that advice changes then we will communicate that to all passengers immediately, but for now it is business as usual for Metro. Passengers don’t need to be worried about travelling on the network.”

All train operators will advice passengers not to travel in case of the Coronavirus (COVID 19) becomes widespread in the UK. Which is a major worry for businesses that will be affected and yes more cases and death tolls will continue on rising.
