The GWR County Project has released its latest update on building a new Great Western Railway 1000 ‘Hawksworth County’ Class No. 1014 County of Glamorgan.
Knowing What to Look For
Members of the Project have been busy collecting drawings and information about the Hawksworth Counties at the National Railway Museum‘s achieves at York.
Containing thousands of individual documents, any potentially related documents must be check for any relevant information.
This is further complicated by the class being renumbered during the design stage, from ‘9900s/99XXs’ to ‘1000s/10XXs’, which must be taken into consideration on searching documents.
The more documents and information the Project can find now the easier the design and construction of 1014 “County of Glamorgan” should be.
Crossheads
The Great Central Railway is currently in the process of machining both crossheads.
