It has been confirmed that a train has hit an animal near and this is now blocking the line.

The broken down train at Stevenage means that the line towards Hitchin is closed.

Train services running through this station will be delayed

Disruption is expected until 16:00.

The impact with the animal has brought the train to a stand.

This means one of the lines is currently closed, and all trains are having to run around it.

Delays are therefore affecting trains at Stevenage.

Passenger advice is to travel as normal but to allow extra time to complete your journey.

The train driver is speaking to their engineering department, in order to try and get the train on the move and clear of the line as quickly as possible.
