Locomotive D821 Greyhound set for Worth Valley visit

The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway has announced that BR Hydraulic locomotive ‘Warship’ No. 821 ‘Greyhound’ will be visiting them for their upcoming Diesel Gala.

821 Greyhound is visiting the thanks to the Diesel Traction Group and the Severn Valley Railway.

The diesel gala will be held from Friday 26th – Sunday 28th June 2020.

Running alongside 821 will be Class 37 No. 37075, Class 20 No. 20031 and Class 25 No. 25059.

D821 was built as part of BR’s modernisation plan and is one of two preserved Warship locomotives, which was initially a 38 strong class. It is based at the Severn Valley Railway and is used throughout the year hauling train services between Kidderminster and Bridgnorth.
