Govia Thameslink Railway has announced that it is the Official Travel Partner of Herts Big Weekend 2020, which celebrates the county’s wide variety of attractions.

The celebration, taking place on April 4 and 5, will have hundreds of pairs of free tickets for Herts attractions that are up for grabs! The registration for tickets opens on February 20th.

Thameslink, Great Northern and Southern trains serve many of the towns and villages across Hertfordshire, making it easier to visit many of the attractions.

The Herts Big Weekend first launched in 2016, forming part of national English Tourism Week and has been organised by Visit Herts, to promote Hertfordshire’s attractions and sights, and to encourage residents to discover how much there is to see and do in their home county.

What did the officials say?

Visit Herts Chief Executive, Deirdre Wells OBE said:

“One of the most convenient and sustainable ways for residents to get around Hertfordshire is by train. Southern, Thameslink and Great Northern Railways service our county and we are pleased to announce that they are this year’s Official Travel Partner.”

Emma Wiles, Head of Marketing for Southern, Thameslink and Great Northern Railway, said:

“Hertfordshire is a key part of our network, with three of our lines providing services in the region. We are delighted to be the Official Travel Partner of the Herts Big Weekend promoting exciting things to see and do within the county.”
